Position Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join our Queensland team. The successful candidate will work within a small but highly capable team of professionals throughout the tender process, including actively participating in the preparation of first principal cost estimates.

 

Requirements

  • Play a key role in the estimating department and work effectively with the team
  • Participate in identifying the right project opportunities for the business
  • Manage the tender process from start to finish including preparing detailed staging plans, construction programs and first principal cost estimates
  • Ability to identify key risks and opportunities associated with the tender and formulate strategies to address
  • Write construction methodologies which demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the work being tendered
  • Lead the post tender process until a contract is awarded in favour of Hazell Bros
  • Manage the handover process from the estimating department to the construction team
  • Conduct post submission reviews to improve tender outcomes

 

Qualifications
 
  • Proven track record preparing civil construction estimates across a range of disciplines including extensive experience with TMR bids
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
  • Proficient in Expert Estimation and MS Project
  • Well-developed leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare professionally written submissions to address non-price tender assessment criteria
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
  • Comprehensive skills, knowledge and experience in negotiating within the pre-contract environment
